Welcome to Mountain Harvest Organics

Mountain Harvest Organics is located in the Spring Creek community of Madison County in Western North Carolina. The farm has been in production for over 150 years and is nestled in a valley shadowed by beautiful Bluff Mountain over which the Appalachian Trail passes

We serve the Asheville and Waynesville area with fresh, organic produce from early May thorough November.  We also serve the residents of our Spring Creek community through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.

Our farm has 13 acres of tillable land with 5 acres currently in production, which allows us to grow a broad assortment of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs. Previously we were a certified organic farm through Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, but have since dropped our certification because of our direct relationship with our customers who know us and our farming practices.  We continue to follow the standards put in place by the National Organic Program (NOP) but have chosen not to complete the paperwork and inspections required by the program.  We are trying to combine permaculture techniques with our organic farming practices to ensure that we create a habitat, which will attract and support wildlife such as deer, groundhogs, birds, butterflies, beneficial insects and amphibians.

We support the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) which is a Western North Carolina community-based collaborative focused on sustaining farms and rural communities through an integrated action programs. This organization has been instrumental in helping bring awareness to the availability of local food in Western North Carolina.
